Food Safe
Epoxy Adhesives
Permabond food safe epoxy adhesives have been formulated using FDA-approved raw materials. These adhesives comply with CFR 175.105. They are ideal for bonding and sealing food contact equipment and appliances. 2-Part epoxy adhesives offer a quick and easy way of bonding a wide variety of substrates including, metals, composites, ceramics, glass. They allow accurate alignment of parts and, if necessary, can be cured quickly by applying heat. They cure to form a high-strength rigid solid which is non-porous and can be easily cleaned. They offer excellent resistance to water, food, cleaning fluids, and heat.

We are often asked for food safe adhesives that are different chemistries than epoxy, such as UV or cyanoacrylate. The term food safe and food-grade may have a different meaning to some people but generally, people requesting food-safe adhesives, expect them to be formulated only with raw materials listed in the FDA CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) 175.105. The ingredients to formulate UV or Cyanoacrylate are not listed in the code.
