We are delighted to announce the launch of a new structural acrylic adhesive, Permabond TA4213. This two-part, 1:1 mix ratio adhesive combines a long open time with very rapid strength development once parts are joined.
Rather than curing immediately upon application, TA4213 offers a 20-minute open time that facilitates bonding over large surface areas and allows precise alignment of parts, even in smaller applications. Its fast strength development once parts are joined means a reduced clamping time and greater production efficiency.
Highly thixotropic, the adhesive has a non-stringing, non-slumping consistency that is ideal for gap filling. It doesn’t slump or sag after application, making it well suited for vertical substrates. Its rubber toughening lends it high impact and vibration resistance, resistance to crack propagation and the ability to bond dissimilar substrates with mismatched coefficients of thermal expansion.
TA4213 features special built-in adhesion promotion technology that allows it to bond through oily surfaces or oxide layers, such as those found on aluminium. This greatly simplifies surface preparation, with an acetone or isopropanol wipe enough to prepare the surface for bonding using TA4213.
