Permabond’s UV649 is a thixotropic (flow controlled) UV gel. It seals connections around fine wires without flowing outside the desired area. It cures quickly with low intensity UV light. The shear strength, elongation, and impact resistance of Permabond UV649 make it an ideal strain relief and an excellent adhesive for mixed substrates (such as metal and plastic) where differential thermal expansion and contraction could be an issue. The cured product is clear and colorless.
