Handy UV adhesive kit for bonding acrylic/Perspex®
Permabond’s new UV639 adhesive is proving very popular for bonding clear plastic screens and point of sale display assemblies. Permabond Europe is now offering a handy UV adhesive kit. The kit includes the liquid adhesive and a small handheld battery-powered UV torch for curing. This makes it especially convenient for on-site installations, as parts can be bonded together without the need for drilling.
The adhesive will bond clear plastics, including polycarbonate, and acrylic (Perspex®, Plexiglass®, PMMA), and can bond to other materials such as metal and composite materials, providing the UV light can get to the joint.
Once cured, the adhesive is clear, colourless, and non-yellowing, giving a visually pleasing joint, which looks better and is much easier to wipe clean than nuts and bolts, and other fasteners. The adhesive contains no solvent and doesn’t require any mixing – it is easy to apply, and once you are happy with the positioning of parts, switch on the UV torch, and the adhesive cures in a matter of seconds.
The pocket-sized UV LED torch comes with AAA batteries.
