This new, blue, extremely high strength two-part epoxy adhesive was developed for a spacecraft project and later adopted by an aircraft parts manufacturer. ET5422 offers high peel strength and achieves exceptionally high structural bond strength and performance. Second-generation core shell rubber technology fully toughens the product to provide excellent impact, vibration, peel, shear strength, and exceptionally high aluminum bond strength.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17715\" src=\"https:\/\/permabond.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/ET5422.jpg\" alt=\"aluminum bonding\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2>What is Permabond ET5422 Structural Epoxy?<\/h2>\r\n<p>Permabond ET5422 is a two-component, light blue adhesive that provides high-strength adhesion to many engineering materials. It is ideal for replacing welding. ET5422 also allows greater freedom of material selection with its ability to bond dissimilar materials and seals against moisture and chemicals. It can also replace mechanical fasteners, helping to keep assemblies lightweight and rattle-free without compromising the structure with holes for fasteners.<\/p>\r\n<h3>How to use ET5422 Structural Epoxy<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This easy-to-use room temperature curing epoxy adhesive consists of resin and hardener. The convenient dual cartridge package allows dispensing with a handgun through static mix nozzles. In addition, bulk packaging is available for use with automatic dispensing equipment. You can achieve full cure at room temperature, but consider reducing cure time by heat curing. In addition to reducing cure time, heat curing can be used to tailor the cured properties of the adhesive. For example, the peel strength on aluminum tested to ISO4578 when cured 1 hour @ 60\u00b0C is 270 N\/25mm (59 PIW).\u00a0 However, cured for 5 days @ 23\u00b0C, it is 320 N\/25mm (70 PIW).
